Beinghood

  • My goal is to promote Beinghood, the felt moral kinship one has with every being - every locus where there is something it is like to be - simply in virtue of that shared fact of experience
  • Think about brotherhood. This collective collegiality that we have for brothers of our species. Humanhood or animalhood, words that highlight some core that we share and some feeling of collectiveness that sprung out of that. A famous Israeli poet once said: when I see a cat, I am for him. It is a very childlike wonderful saying. and when I see a being, I am for him. That is beinghood. The connection between everybody, or not even body, even one, that there is something like to be her.
