Should we Play God?

We are already god, the most powerful species on earth. Humans already intervene in nature in the most dramatic way imaginable, transforming it completely. You belong to a species which is the most influential force affecting life on Earth. In other words, the question is not whether we will intervene, but how we will intervene and in what direction?

Saying we're not God is a little bit like if you die and go to Heaven, you ask God "What's up with you man? Why are you allowing all this suffering?" and god replies "I don't know, I don't play God. I'm humble". Having power without taking responce-ability is extremely immoral. Power is exactly the thing that enables responce-ability.

For anyone who opposes intervention in nature, I ask the following question: if it was an action resulting in a pareto improvement, meaning that all beings would benefit or at least not be harmed by it, would you still oppose it? You may not be in favor of doing some interventions now, due to complexity and lack of enough knowledge, but fundamentally do you want wild animals to have better lives?
