Practicing Vipassana in the Goenka tradition has taught me that I am constantly reacting to my physical body sensation, and my actions emerge from this reaction. My misery comes from not responding with equanimity to these sensations. It does not (directly) come from an outside reality, or, as I like to put it, "Buddha was a statistician".
